I currently have all 6 of the SATA ports in my gaming PC filled with 8TB HDDs. That's 48TB with 32TB used. Half of that is installers for games. If I buy one 24TB HDD and put it on a NAS I can move the installers to free up 4 of those drives and remove them from the pool. Then I can put those four drives in a RAID enclosure to create a 32TB drive. I can then move all the installers to that external drive, and take the 24TB drive out of my NAS and put it in my gaming PC.
