Fixed mandatory DNS filtering and one of these lists is reaaaally fucking with aliucord/discord
I'm also suspecting some slowdown but haven't looked at numbers bar a desktop speed test which checked out about normal.

Man BGP just does NOT want to be done dynamically.
It makes sense it's a more foundational protocol, gets less attention, needs to be done less often... I just have the itch to automate and wire everything up
New home office setup!
This Dell 32" Ultrasharp has a built in KVM network switch. I can switch between my personal Mac and my work PC with a keystroke. Pairs the keyboard, mouse and sound.
Only issue is the webcam. The true test will come Monday...
When I actually get this cluster production-ready I'm going to be like a dog that's caught it's tail and doesn't know what to do with it.
Excellent.
I got it so that https://delores.internal.jws.app and https://apis.internal.jws.app work ... but only if you have a VPN connection to the home server.
Hey #DIY folks. I have an outdoor wireless sensor that runs on a single AA battery. I'd like put it on a solar powered charger of some kind, so I don't have to keep changing out the battery. I found these things on AliExpress. One is a USB-to-AA converter. The other is a solar-to-USB power supply. Can I combine these 2 things ($10.50) to achieve what I want? Any better ideas?
Date night with my #homelab
Sometimes it feels like Ansible is a lot more friendly with home lab and self hosting than Terraform. A lot of things I want to do with Terraform do not have official providers, while Ansible does have a lot of official modules.
I'm not looking for a solution, just making an observation.
At first I thought it was a late April Fools, but now I very much want one.
A rack-mountable beer fridge from 45drives!
I will have a 40U in the near future and not much to fill it in with, so maaaaybe?
I have to keep reminding myself that perfection is the enemy of progress. The first iteration of this setup will be nowhere near perfect, but it will exist. It can be worked on and improved.
I'm not sure if this is a good direction to go, but it's better than doing nothing. I can always wipe it and go back to using it as a desktop.
Anyway, I need to hang out washing, have lunch and then go deal with migrating data.
I'd like to get a couple of new hard drives and set them up as NAS storage, but there is no budget for this. I have a 256GB SSD and a 3TB HDD, so I'll have to make do for now.
I was thinking I might set up #proxmox, but I'm not sure yet. If I set it up as a Linux machine, at least I can use it as a desktop on the odd occasion I need to.
Today I am planning on rebuilding my desktop computer. I don't use it very much these days, so I might turn it into a home lab server.
New blog post: https://blog.mei-home.net/posts/k8s-migration-25-controller-migration/
I like to think that many of my blog posts are mildly educational, perhaps even helping someone in a similar situation.
This blog post is the exception. It is a cautionary tale from start to finish. I also imagine that it might be the kind of post someone finds on page 14 of google at 3 am and names their firstborn after me.
Getting Nextcloud working on TrueNAS Scale was a bit of work and probably deserves a blog post but I'm busy poking it to see if anything breaks first!

If your Pi has been shitting the bed over SSH lately this is likely the answer.
