My employer, after 7 months of work, fired me overnight. Because I would be too "finicky" about code quality and security risks, which would better suit "a bank or cybersecurity company".

So I'm again #lookingForJob, either at #Montpellier (France) or #fullRemote. I am a #fullStack #developer with almost 10 years of experience on #php, #symfony, #html, #css, #javascript (#jquery and I'm also learning #vue). I am fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Reintro!

I'm Dylan, a #fullstack #webdev from the Midwest, US. I like working with #js and #svelte so much that I wrote a book about #sveltekit! I've also worked extensively with #php and #WordPress but try to avoid the latter if I can.

I spend my days in the terminals of various #Linux machines and tweaking my #Vim config. I automate my #homelab with #ansible. I write about web dev on my #blog.

I enjoy #pcgaming and will occasionally #shitpost and boost #memes so brace yourself.

I'm testing out PrimeVue for my Vue demo project and I finally discovered (figured out) that if you want to use the PrimeVue elements, you need to name them on import and use those names in the HTML tags.

Vue also complains if you don't use unique names since you're not allowed to overwrite the existing HTML elements because of course you can't. This makes a ton of sense and I'm glad I figured it out now while I'm working to get all the pieces of my app in place.

The code ends up looking like this a lot and I'm using pv* for my prefix:

import pvbutton from 'primevue/button'
app.component('pvbutton', pvbutton)

then in HTML, you use:

<pvbutton ....></pvbutton>

Hello everyone!

I'm a software engineer mainly interested in #AR, #VR, and #GameDev. I love the feeling of creating worlds for people to enjoy and solving the puzzles that #coding creates. I also have some experience in #fullstack #WebDev, though #CSS frustrates me and #backend stuff makes me a little nervous haha.

Currently my main games are #GuildWars2 and #Minecraft. I'm also a fan of #PokemonGo, #FarmRPG, and more recently #Gubbins.

Other thoughts on the RailsWorld keynote, keeping in mind these things can be true and also that DHH has some toxic views:

• I liked the “here is some new Rails stuff and there are talks going deep on it here" - it makes the conference feel valuable (again, setting aside if you agree on the new things)

• I like the underlying ethos of “create tools that allow someone to do more and more of the end-to-end build/ownership of an app”. I am team #FullStack for sure

• The front-end stuff…I dunno…
