Screen Time is a feature I'm quite proud of, but it won't be ready in time for the alpha release.

The reason is that we need to update our apps to support this, so don't fret, it will be ready by the RC

I want to make Loops fun and addictive, but in a healthy and ethical/safe way.

This and new safety features will give our community even more control over the content they see, and who can see their content.

Power to people-first platforms

Just built something I don't think any other fediverse project has: ultra-granular federation controls.

Loopers can pick exactly which servers to federate with, go local-only, or even pause delivery.

It was tough to code, but our community deserves this power

Sorry for the Loops delays - I got caught up perfecting every tiny detail instead of shipping fast.

Will you host a Loops server?

My goal is to make the Loops webUI simple, familiar and efficient.

This means adopting HLS and re-transcoding the 20K+ videos on https://loops.video

Along with a new data-saver feature, this will reduce bandwidth significantly across web and apps and make videos load way faster by automatically switching between the optimal resolution based on your network connection.

It may seem like a small or boring improvement, but it will be noticable

Still growing and learning every day.

I know trust/respect is earned, not given - and I'm committed to earning yours by delivering on Pixelfed, Loops, Sup, and being the kind of maintainer our community deserves.

Together we're proving that ethics and humanity can win.

This is just the beginning.

Your Loops data belongs to you, and while we don't yet support account migration or imports, we will support exports

We will publish the export schema in our documentation so other fedi developers can implement import functionality if they desire.

To clarify: when I said Loops brings the same addictive experience, I meant it feels familiar and fun - not that we want to hook you like for-profit platforms.

Loops will include Screen Time reminders, safety features, and a temporary account-disable feature.
