Time for an #Introduction post. I’m a #liveaboard #sailor (www.svloka.com) and full time #nomad who is also a #creative #artist. I play #guitar, #crochet, paint (#watercolor & #acrylic), and draw #penandink. I love #yoga and use #meditation to manage my #anxiety. Got #sober in 2020.

I am a recovering #softwareengineer (#programmer) and #ITmanager. I focused a lot on #leadership & effective #communication, and I still enjoy #mentoring people on those topics. I still tinker with tech on occasion.

Children are given the benediction of "Sweet Dreams" at bedtime. Here I present a child's imagination turning a toy boat into a dreamship to sail celestial seas. Imagination & dreams can take you anywhere you choose to set sail.

A toy sailboat sits on a nightstand next to a window curtain and on that curtain is outer space with stars, moon, and spiral galaxy. All source materials were created by me using Paintshop Pro X4 (ancient by today's standards) and my own photos. In the paintshop file I have over 30+ layers. I created this back in 2014 - long before these annoying quick AI generation art emerged on the scene in 2022. I long for the days when people considered photo-manip mixed with digital art painstakingly created was not 'art' LOL. But seriously, I have spent years honing my skills and it is tiring to have audience (not your fault) doubt the creation because of the <bleep> ease of push a button technology for instant art creation. I don't know how many hours I spend to create this back in 2014 but I do remember it took about 8 days before I was satisfied with the final piece. Anyway, the attached behind the scenes video in comment section will be a rare behind the scenes look demonstrating the creation of my piece. I will not be doing much more of these as I feel it is akin to the magician revealing how they did their magic and in so doing it takes away from the magic of the scene.
