What is now a tablerunner started out as a costume idea. For "Karneval" last year, I made more than 250 "African flower" hexagons and turned it into a 70s style Poncho as an homage to the famous "Prilblume". When I grew up, the dish soap company Pril used to have these flower stickers on their packaging. A core memory of my childhood. After it served its purpose as a costume, I just needed to add a few more flowers in the middle to turn it into a tablerunner.

Calling all those who signed up for the Baa Baa Brighouse Book Club - it's time for the big reveal!

Introducing 'A Tale of Two Cities', a 100g skein of hand dyed 100% British Bluefaced Leicester 4 ply high twist yarn. There are two skeins in each box.

Included in the box is a copy of the Penguin Clothbound Classic edition of the book and a tin of Victorian style tea.

Boxes are already on their way. Happy knitting!

Bloß gut, dass ich nichts mit Sprachen mache. 🤡 Diesen #Baum in #Alvito habe ich im Januar schon mal gepostet, aber das Wortspiel konnte ich einfach nicht links fallen, äh, liegen lassen. (Ja ja, ich weiß, der Baum ist behäkelt, nicht bestrick... ihr wisst schon.) // Re-post of a photo I posted in January, but I couldn't just ignore the pun. Good morning Fellow Travellers on the Galactic Spiral Arm 🌌 I'm up late today as Grant is going out on an RSBP work party and got up for the parrots, and a lovely day he has for it too. Coffee has been poured so now I'm settling in with the Crew to wake myself up and listen to some Classic FM Calm. After the initial excitement of morning greetings, Ziggy is back under her preening arch grumbling away and Jadie is playing with her toys, but Toby has started randomly screeching again so my visit may be cut short. Eclectus screaming before one is even awake is no fun! 🫣

Remember I had that dream about my toilet being broken? Well yesterday it did actually break. So now I do need to get a plumber out. Maybe I should also set up Madame Caz's tent with a crystal ball while I'm at it 😂

More crochet today. Hoping to finish the Kids' Drawing Toy order.

I told you I temporarily became a mad hatter when I discovered making my own strawhats. :D Here I used a chiffon cloth as a hatband - it's actually a juggling cloth usually used by kids to learn juggling. :-)
This hat was claimed by my aunt for gardening, and I'm glad it has a good home with her.
What is interesting here is that I used a slightly different paper yarn. Most Raffia will be broad and flat, but some are rolled and round and more yarn-like. See second picture for a direct comparison. This will in the end have an impact on your gauge and the size of your project, so it's a good thing to know.
