Experimental imperative-style music sequence generator engine
just a short info....
Despite several attempts, I couldn't get the shadows and lights to no longer have edges, so I converted the objects into Po-Builder objects and combined them.
This has caused the editor's performance to drop considerably, and I'm currently trying to figure out how I can compensate for this, or rather what exactly is causing it.
The other strimmer engine just needed a replacement fuel line, the original had gone brittle and broken.
The engine runs fine and is barely used. But the bottom half of the strimmer is missing entirely. The remaining tube is bent. Looks like it may have been left on the ground and someone drove over it.
Could get a replacement shaft and tube, but I don't really need a third strimmer.
Ideas? Make a really short strimmer for children? Attach an old propeller and use as outboard engine? Motorized flyswatter?
Maybe I'll just keep it as spare engine.
Fun fact: The shaft in the tube is a flexible one, so it works even when the tube is bent. I didn't know that.
Fixed one of the strimmers from the pile of mowing junk the neighbours gave me.
The fuel tank was missing, but a tank from the parts box fit. It needed a new rubber grommet in the fuel tank.
These things get fuel by pressurizing the tank, so two hoses go there, pressure in and fuel out.
If the grommet doesn't seal tight, the pressure leaves through the gap and no fuel is pumped to the carb.
There was even a brand new carb for it in the box, I guess someone ordered that trying to fix it.
Then I strimmed around the house, kitchen garden and back of the sauna until I found some wild strawberries there, which I rather eat than cut
Free strimmer. Well, about €0.50 in parts invested.
Because of AI slop and confusion caused by (often well-meaning) Americans on international online spaces, I was unsure if the engine on my #GolfGTI had just direct or multi point #fuelinjection
Managed to snag an official VW workshop manual and checked with my own eyes, was pleased to see the CHHA engine in my car does indeed have the extra fuel rail and injectors in the intake manifold (this is good, as #petrol sprays over the back of the intake valves and keeps then cleaner, without it they are prone to coke up and require walnut blasting)
I do not know why Americans only get engines with direct injection (into the combustion chamber), whether this is simply cost cutting by #Volkswagen of #America or some other reason..
A prototype two-stroke internal combustion engine that uses a rotary exhaust valve eliminates the need for oil mixed with fuel, resulting in cleaner and more efficient combustion. It can therefore be run using natural gas, hydrogen, and biodiesel as well as gas.
Godot Engine
Godot is a game engine that has risen in popularity over the past few years. It currently supports (officially) its own programming language (GDScript, in both textual and “visual”(...)
I’m sure in a few instances I maybe wrong but I feel like games have already fallen into easy spot “unreal engine” look again. 4 was less obvious, but I feel like with lumen and the haze levels unreal 5 offers by default it’s incredibly easy to sport. To me this is bad for gaming ..

This week I reached the 3000th commit to my engine git repository.
Here is the commit comment : Rework Node/Scene manager

Read some reviews about QWANT the search engine, it appears to work well.
Over the past two weeks, I've been working hard to optimize my engine.
Particularly with occlusion culling to reduce draw calls.
And I'm quite happy with the results.
Here are some before/after shots with stats.

Ford Godzilla V8 Knocks on the Door of 1,000 HP Without Boost or Nitrous
@jerry 's recent post about Adventures In Xmas Tree Delivery with a U-Haul truck reminded me I've never told this story here. So, my own U-Haul experience...
We were moving my partner from another city to mine, about a two-and-a-half-hour drive. Rented a U-Haul truck, whatever was the largest they had at the time. 17-foot rings a bell, but I'm not positive about that.
It was built on a Chrysler/Dodge frame, and had a 10-cylinder diesel engine. It still felt under-powered.
I was the one to drive it to Saskatoon. Loud, uncomfortable ride, but uneventful. But as I approached the outskirts of the city, something just felt a little "off". Nothing I could put my finger on. Until I reached an overpass that goes over train tracks, so a little up-and-down hump in the middle of flat prairie.
And as soon as I hit that hump, *something* went wrong with the engine. It coughed loudly, was immediately down on power and running roughly, and in the few seconds it took for me to check my mirrors and see what options I had, it started belching white smoke from the exhaust. That's coolant in the cylinders, meaning (at best) it blew a head gasket, and (at worst) put a connecting rod through the block. Probably not a big enough bang for that.
Couldn't even coast it up the rest of the hill, so it was stranded on a narrow overpass, almost touching the guardrail.

This dude knew it was a bad idea.
Unity cancels controversial fees to use its game engine tools a year after introduction
From the engine compartment, the drive shaft pierces the hull to connect to the boat propeller in the water.
There's a weed hatch above the propeller. With the engine switched off, you open that hatch and reach into the water to clear weeds and tangled debris off the propeller.
Today it was a fleece blanket wrapped around the ENTIRE propeller. It took a bit of effort to work it free.
