GameDevGlen<p>Figured out a nice workflow which is fairly cheap, only about 10 nodes total in the graph. Shader complexity is somewhat in the green, at least for the RVT Terrain. DevDave<p>I opened up Unreal 4 again to do some stuff with an old project. It's weird how familiar it is yet it feels...so different. This was my main engine for years and in less than a year it doesn't feel comfortable. Bit late, but worth sharing:

✅ #Unreal (1998) and #UnrealTournament (1999 GOTY) are now officially #Freeware, released by #EpicGames via #OldUnreal and #InternetArchive, fully #legal & #DRMfree.

⚠️ Other titles like #UT2003, #UT2004, #UT3, and Unreal II: The Awakening aren't officially freeware. They're available on archive sites and still work with community tools, but downloading them is legally a grey area, tolerated, but not officially licensed.

❌ Unreal Championship 1 & 2 (Xbox-only) were never released for PC and downloading them is illegal.

Great to see parts of #UnrealHistory preserved.
