I opted to test Windows 11 24H2 for my company. Good news, Wi-Fi 7 works great. I’m connected to my U7-Pro at 5.8 Gbps — not that that will get me too far with the AP connected with 2.5GBaseT and 1 Gbps Internet (download, a pathetic 0.035 Gbps upload over DOCSIS). But hey, it looks nice.

Bad news, @jima and @paulos: the promised “future version of Windows 11” with CLAT support isn’t this one. Windows 11 still insists on using legacy IP despite me shoving DHCPv4 option 108 down its throat.

Ever since setting up the new #router we've been tripping over cables. I finally got around to hanging it up on the wall tonight, but I didn't get around to hanging the wired backhaul. So, I'm testing the #6Ghz #wireless backhaul and it's *almost* as fast as it was with the #ethernet

I'm exceptionally satisfied with this #TPLink #Deco #BE10000. It's perfect for >1gig connections. And they marked it down $50 since I bought it!

My #TPLink #Deco #Wifi7 #router came yesterday, and though I promised my partner I'd not tear down the old #network until the weekend, I plugged it in and tested it out. My #speed #tests saw consistent improvement across my devices, none of which are even 6E, and that's without the #wired #25GbE backhaul even!

Next step is to install a new Wifi 7 card in my partner's laptop and see what kind of improvement that can get. Same for the 2.5GbE card I bought for my gaming PC.

While upgrading to a #Wifi7 #router and #multigig #LAN #networking, it's been a shock to me that wifi7 has a higher data rate than 2.5G #Ethernet!!

Mainly due to wider channels, but also because of #MLO #MultiLinkOperation, which can use 6Ghz and 5Ghz simultaneously!

I wonder if the 2.5G wired #backhaul on the #TPLink #mesh router I've got coming in the mail actually helps much if the nodes have good #signal or if I should have spring for one with 10G backhaul.

Hey!
I'm stuck in my 6GHz WLAN antenna and controller search.
Do you have any reference which is capable to operate WLAN/Wi-Fi on the 6GHz band (Thus, really capable to operate Wi-Fi7 or Wi-Fi6E) and able to operate in a monitor mode?
Everything I found does not have a clear answer, thus, if I can save my time instead of buying all of them and test, it would be appreciated 😁

#Ubiquiti released new #wifi7 APs, these also have the 2.5 GbE uplink powered by PoE+, still they do not provide a PoE+ adapter with multi GbE support (you need to buy from TP) and for those who don't have a rack space, there is no good switch to hook them to as the utility lineup is more or less just 1GbE or without PoE+ output. Sure you can buy a USW-Enterprise-8-PoE if you can afford it... we hope Ubiquiti could provide us with a not too expensive switch.
