Waiting for my first doordash order after spending some time in the yard today moving the project along...

Repurposed one of the garden boxes from the back where the new patio/bbq/paellaria will be beside the #poolPond to the front around the northern spy apple.

Also pulled the dead stuff from the front flower box and added new dirt.

Will need to get some fabric or chicken wire to keep the neighbour cats out of the apple tree box.

I look at the backyard. It's a bit of a disaster. But there is progress. The large pool is empty now as is the other two smaller holes. All of the extra rubber and garden liner is in a pile beside the dirt. The garden boxes have been removedcompletely as the mail felt that was underneath the car. There is fresh dirt turned over it all needs to be leveled.

This might be an odd question but…

I’m designing a passive-house rated house. It will be near a stream and so will be slab on grade. The house will be two stories, approximately 2000 sq ft, and will have some solar PV although we haven’t got to the point where we have details on capacity as we are still working on the layout. We’re thinking of a detached garage at this time.

My question is: How large a mechanical room is appropriate?
