Comcast Xfinity notified me that they changed my unlimited Internet plan to $25 per 50 GB unless I upgrade my plan. I was already paying $138 per month for 1 Gb download and ~100 Mb upload.

I just switched to EarthLink, which is a wrapper around local AT&T fiber optics. I'm now paying $80 per month for a symmetric 1 Gb optical connection with an option to upgrade to symmetric 5 Gb for $200 per month.

I'm grateful I have options here in Santa Cruz, CA, USA.

Logging in to check my bill, but it's just spinning. The #Xfinity website doesn't like some combination of these things:
• Firefox
• uBlock Origin
• Privacy Badger
• Cosmic radiation
• Bananas
• The color mauve
• Me, personally

Could be more things, but I don't think I'll be checking my bill today. Good thing it's autopay.

Could I disable plugins and try a different browser from a dark lead-lined room? Sure, but for an Internet provider, #Comcast sure can't Internet very well.

I got NBA League Pass as a gift and have yet to really make use of it.

One thing that sucks is that Xfinity has an app for LP, but on my X1 --> 15 year old dumb TV screen the stream is worthless. Blurry, freezes, etc.

I can cast it to my Apple TV, but I hate tying up a device just to cast to a freakin' monitor.

Another pretty good #Xfinity #phish made it through today. #ioc

The most user hostile #webpage I've ever seen is the #Xfinity account management site; specifically the customer.xfinity.com/#/devices page where you can see if you have exceeded the data cap which is useful for avoiding overage fees.

It takes 30 seconds to load! 10 seconds to load the #HTML, another 10 to load the #JS and #CSS!

Not because they are big files mind you, that's just how slow their servers are.

Continued thread

Ugh. 3 hours after working around the #Xfinity tech's shortcomings, we've gotten 5 texts & 3 emails threatening to send a "tech" out to "fix" our issue @ 8AM tomorrow.

Basically, Xfinity was sandboxing their DNS to redirect the user's browser to a page that insisted we contact customer service.

I would be a bit more gracious if they weren't so mercenary in trying to upsell us in the middle of troubleshooting the issue.
