I deleted my Strava account and switched to a self-hosted alternative called Geo Activity Playground. More about that in my blog post.

Introducing Dashix – A New Tool for Self-Hosters to Simplify Docker Compose and More
Sometimes #selfhosting is not about the actual software but also self improving the space you work on. This weekend was about placing fake stone stickers in the wall of what I call my #homelab office, changing Zigbee sensors batteries and replacing a Tuya window sensor that died for a Sonoff. To come in near future: Edison LED wall lamps (hence the cable hanging) and ideally, tidying up my messy cave
Por estos días sumé a mis servicios selfhosteados wallabag, una aplicación para guardar páginas web estilo pocket. También probé linkwarden, que si bien es más bonita y tiene más funciones, consume considerablemente más recursos, especialmente RAM.
What #docker #containers do you guys/gals host at home?
Today is a GREAT day to begin your #selfhosting journey, if you haven't already!
Tired of paying billionaires to make life on earth worse for everyone, in exchange for a few trinkets and a load of hostility?
You can replace:
- #spotify -> #navidrome
- #youtube -> #peertube
- #netflix etc -> #jellyfin
- #gsuite -> #nextcloud
- #google #bing etc -> #SearxNG
- #whatsapp etc -> #xmpp
- and so much more!
Any steps you take to reduce your interactions with
Honest question for #selfhosting #homelab I have a blog and a set of static websites. I don’t sell anything im not a business, but I also don’t have anything for GDPR/cookie management etc. is that a legal potential issue? Or as I am an individual I shouldn’t care? What are the “rules” for that?

Got two Mega Drive packages recently and will now take care of the console, controllers and games.
@LoganFive setup a #NextCloud instance. It has a #web interface, #mobile app and wide #plugin support.
Can be self hosted - requires more maintenance; routing, firewall, updates, ... Many #cloud / #VPS hostings provide a NextCloud #hosting #service at lower cost than hosting a VPS with #bucket #storage (for instance Hetzner).
@LoganFive #synology #Beestation or its more larger new addition, the #BeestationPlus
3 step setup, 2 mobile apps almost no configuration from the user side.
What is the easiest way for me to self host a cloud drive that my phone and laptop can both connect to? But that is also secure?
I do not work in the tech industry and may lack the skills to do this but I thought I’d ask.
The thing that gets me about #selfhosting web services is that you will never be able to #selfhost your TLD domain. You will never be free of big tech on the clear open Internet; we baked it into DNS, the lowest layer of the protocol. So unless you're self-hosting an #Onion, or #IPFS site I don't see the point in avoiding #cloud providers.
It's like calling yourself Vegan and working at KFC.
This is your casual reminder to #selfhost At least that what you are comfortable with
#selfhosting is about being independent. About owning your data. About reclaiming the 'net and decentralizing it. It is about taking control. Being able to do things the way you see fit. And it is about breaking free from subscriptions and from big tech which is #enshittifying like there is no tomorrow.
Go #selfhosted the way you see fit. In small steps, one platform at a time - or with a head first dive if you are feeling adventurous. Share your experiences, write a blog about it, create a video or post about it on the Fediverse.
It most definitely is not too late to revolt. To give big tech the middle finger. Firmly stand your ground. Be a rebel.

Hey #SelfHosted / #SelfHosting folks, does anyone know of a self-hosted pinterest-like system?
I want to create both publicly shareable and private moodboards (basically just groups of content) of anything from images to links to text etc.
