The past years of development on @jellyfin for #AndroidTV focused on modernizing code to increase maintainability and stability. Because of that I've now been able to make more visible changes. 
The next major release (version 0.19.0) will have a completely redesigned top bar and an entirely new search screen, with voice-search! 
The navigation on top is not in the final state yet, it will be enhanced over time. I'm just not sure if that will be in 0.19 yet

Is anyone experienced in #androidtv on #raspberrypi? I want to get rid of my fire TV stick, but i can't get used to kodi.
Seems to be not to complicated, if you ever installed a custom ROM.
I noticed that one of them is on the #IzzyOnDroid repo and the libre version is one incremental version behind.
Also, if you scroll down on the Aves regular version, #FDroid warns you that it's anti features is use of #Google proprietary libraries.

#SideProject: with the rise of #linux based SBC and all the awesome things people do with them I was thinking but with the fact that they are increasingly not cheap, is there a source of #linux devices that could be hacked to be useful.

As a heavy user of the original #Chromecast, and a current user of the #CCwGtv I'm not sad at all.
#ONN makes excellent #AndroidTV boxes that are just as cheap and even better built than the #Google ones.
Just sideload #SmartTube and bob's your uncle!
TBH I think #OUYA should've ditched their own #controllers and instead choose to rebadge a pair of 3rd party #Xbox360 #wired #USB Gamepads instead.
That would've saved them at least $50 per controller even if they customized it with #OUYA buttons.

So I decided to buy a Chromecast with Google TV after all.
I started to rip my dvd's just for fun and testing. I thought they would look like garbage when played as dvd's are 576p (or 480p). However, some part of my Android TV + Jellyfin + Kodi combo actually upscales them! Of course it's not the same as real HD but it looks so much better, and now ripping the rest of the dvd's makes more sense!
