The Peter Pan of Nerdery™ 🇦🇺After reading the hype, I bought an <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Onn" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Onn</a> 4K Pro <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/streaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#streaming</a> box from <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Walmart" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Walmart</a> yesterday and hooked it up. Just like the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/GoogleTV" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#GoogleTV</a> interface a lot more than the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Firestick" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Firestick</a> one. It has the Google Assistant built into the box itself (ie the streaming unit is a mic as well as a speaker) and the remote is backlit, has a "find" feature and is generally comfortable to hold. I really like it. But I'm going to firesale (see what I did there?) some of my older firesticks now. Finally.

🧿🪬🍄🌈🎮💻🚲🥓🎃💀🏴🛻🇺🇸As a heavy user of the original <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Chromecast" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Chromecast</a>, and a current user of the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/CCwGtv" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#CCwGtv</a> I'm not sad at all. <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/ONN" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#ONN</a> makes excellent <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/AndroidTV" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#AndroidTV</a> boxes that are just as cheap and even better built than the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Google" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Google</a> ones. Brad LinderBenchmarks show that the 2023 version of Walmart's cheap Onn Streaming Stick (with 1080p support and Google TV software) is much faster than the 2021 model.
