Looking at the numerous TBR book piles and wondering what to start next ...
fiction (includes - Remains of the Day. New Tales of the Abject. House of Leaves, James M Cain anthology etc...) or nonfiction? (includes books on Bedlam asylum, cabinets of curiosities, Haunted Screen expressionist cinema, Men in Black, black men on death-row, Storyville brothels, criminal psychology and so much more ...)
Will I live long enough to read my way through all?
@minzastro this particular one is a very short book, though! But yes about a mile-long reading list - and too many already bought books I want to read #tsundoku
About to go to the local library's book sale.
Thoughts and prayers appreciated.

Welcome to the club. My work is done.
@stancarey That's a pretty orderly and wonderful pile. Keep going!

Today I learned the word #tsundoku (積ん読): "the phenomenon of acquiring reading materials but letting them pile up in one's home without reading them"
I genuinely sometimes worry I have too many books but I have just read that Edward Gorey amassed a collection of about 25000 books and still professed that "There's no such thing as too many books" so I have a way to go
Really need to put a moratorium on adding new books to my "to read" pile. I'm buying/putting library holds on/bookmarking *at least* seven titles a week but only getting through two or three. #tsundoku
Not so much physical #books, but I have a burgeoning backlog of digital books that I've amassed over the past decade, the vast majority of which I haven't read (yet).
It turns out that there's a handy word for this phenomenon, courtesy of #Japanese: "tsundoku" (積ん読).

2,000 books is amazing, we're probably in the same league. I rarely loan books out to friends, I give them spare copies of my favorites #UsedBooks
It's less painful that way
Here's a fun fact for us #BookHoarders

Found a lot of 'book people' today. Many living the "tsundoku life".
Ordered two books and have another on hold as a result.
You are my people.
Thanks.
