A snowy pasture, the surface a bit shiny from partial melt and re-freeze. the brighter bits catch the gold to orange of the sun, shadows are blue. The snow is criss-crossed with animal tracks. There is a dip in mid-left where we see the top of a dug-out that catches water for the cattle in summer. Just behind that is the end of an upright board fence which serves as wind break for cattle, wood weathered grey and near silhouetted against the sun which is setting on the horizon to the left just above the fence. Farther back are several dark cattle at a feeding station, just seen as tiny silhouettes. To the right of that is an area of low dark willows and some bare mid size poplars behind. Along the horizon there is a little dark grey cloud just above the foothills, mountains obscured by some dark fluffy clouds and an almost straight line of smooth cloud that is almost level with the bottom of the setting sun. Above is a strip of blue sky tinted gold to orange around the ball of the sun, with rays coming down into the view across the fence. A few small bits of cloud hang closer to the ground and catch the orange of the setting sun. A bit higher another mostly smooth area of medium blue-grey clouds light on the bottom edge darker above.

#ArtAdventCalendar Day 23 +24 more of our #festive #decorations call them #Christmas or #Solstice either way we keep them up for many weeks- especially the #lights - to brighten the dark months. We have a birthday in the second week of December another mid January, so our season extends at least that far, usually a couple more weeks each side!

#ChristmasTree - or rather branches hanging from ceiling. I was celebrating #Slavic Koliada #holiday with one of groups in Warsaw, in atmospheric wooden house.

Poor quality is caused by weak light there. It was completely dark, only fireplace light during ceremonial part, turned on light later during feast.

Whoops, I meant to grab this slightly wider view of the sunset above, since it includes more of that glorious tree. Either way, though, it was a fabulous surprise, and doubly a delight for popping up at the end of the day of the winter solstice.
