Monday, Mar 31 ☔️☔️

1. Granddaughter No. 2 dropped off tomato plants, soil & a cage this morning. First thing I’ll get to if it ever stops raining!
2. The green haze hovering around my crape myrtles & volunteer oaks has turned overnight into masses of this season’s leaves, and more roses have bloomed.
3. I’ve been invited to consider moving to AZ or NC, near my sons…which is gratifying, but I think my roots in this home & garden are too deep to transplant. A conundrum. 😵‍💫

On 1 March, Bulgarians celebrate the beginning of spring with the tradition of #Marteniza. On this day, friends and family members exchange red and white threads or small dolls known as martenizas. These are worn until the first #Stork or blossoming tree is seen, then they are tied to a #Tree. The red and white colours symbolise health and happiness.
