During the pandemic I left my brick snd mortar #unitarianuniversalist #church in favor of an online congregation, and I love all the righteously angry music they choose to play.

Also also, the fact that this congregation… do #UnitarianUniversalist organizations call them congregations? Anyway, they had their hymn book in #Braille so I could actually follow along! There was one copy for 3 blind people, but they did say we just had to let them know if we plan to attend regularly and they can order more. Pretty sure that’s gonna be my most pleasant surprise of #Accessibility and #Inclusion all week. :)

I didn't engage in social media for a long time because I was an English #teacher, which meant I saw firsthand how toxic social media was for many kids (and I didn't want students snooping on me). Now I'm in my early forties and work as #union representative.

I'm disoriented by and fearful of social media, but I stumbled upon Mastodon a few weeks ago, and I've loved it so far. I'm here to learn. I'm looking for people who have a niche love of #postmodern literary and political theory and read #postmodernist authors like #PercivalEverett, #FredricJameson, #Lyotard, etc. Though I'm not very productive, I like to consider myself an #indiereseacher (a term I recently learned here!) who reads lit crit research for fun and listens to lit crit podcasts like #horrorvanguard.

I attend a #UnitarianUniversalist church. I live in Eastern #massachusetts. I try to live with #radicalrespect for myself and others.

@jordinn I went to First UU in West Newton, since it's walking distance for me. It was a lovely service.

(although I ended up driving, because I started walking, was halfway there when I realized I hadn't put a mask in my pocket, so I walked back and then had to drive to get there on time)

My #UnitarianUniversalist church is trying to decide what to do about our stained glass windows. The building is old, and a lot of the people depicted in them we know are problematic - colonizers, slave traders, etc. The option I’m leaning towards voting for is adding plaques under each one explaining why it’s there, and why we now know it is problematic. Ideally we’d just replace them, but it is cost prohibitive without some mega$$$ showing up from somewhere. I’m curious what others think.
