"#Qualcomm pledges 8 years of security updates for #Android kit using its chips" ... IF you're using an Android device that's running Android 15 or later on #Snapdragon Elite 8 hardware. And you're still dependent upon your device vendor to actually be arsed to supply you with the updates.

So in other words, nice try but you'll probably never see it.

The Android ecosystem continues to be driven by #planned #obsolescence. The mobile industry COULD make OS support last a lot longer than it does. Linux manages it just fine, and Android is really just a highly customized Linux. The mobile industry just doesn't want to. They want to force you to buy a new device whenever your most important apps stop working.

@gardening I am in awe of this snapdragon plant that is now in its second year, had sown itself in that spot under the conifers and is surviving winter and even in bloom currently, mid of January. We had frost with minus 7 degrees C. Harvested a few seeds last year already and hope for a few more in this season from this fabulous surviver plant.
It's also my favorite color of snapdragon!
