My Mom's (1928-2015) red red red roses. You'd have to see these flowers to appreciate just how red they are. They are a smallish variety about the size of my fist (fat mechanic hands here). Oddly, on a scale or 0-10, where ten is massive smell, these roses clock in around a -5, that's right, negative five. They have no smell whatsoever. You can't even smell anything that smells like a plant is there. It just smells like air smells. Very strange, eh?
Made it down to #VealeGardens #Adelaide today, first time I've been down since mum passed away, the rain held off and the ducks had a nice feed of corn and Hera (the white-faced heron) followed me around to say 'Hi' and had a feed too, which was nice.
A butterfly (maybe a fritillary) on a butterfly bush, San Jose, CA, June 2025.
Looking up again! The Pacific mock orange bush is blooming (Philadelphus lewisii). It is a butterfly magnet, but I haven't seen many butterflies yet this year. One can always hope.

Here come the white peonies. I took exactly this one photo before the mosquitoes started buzzing around my face, so this'll have to do for today.

No big whoop, just some flowers showing off during my walk around my neighborhood.
Another day of rain and shine. The wetness made the greens and others more beautiful.
