@cR0w Now is a good time to consider #RustDesk ... https://rustdesk.com/
This isn't the first security issue TV has had, but this time they seem a bit more upfront about it - not trying to brush it under the carpet with a hush-hush.

@mrmasterkeyboard @0xF21D @cesarpose for individiuals who do stuff on the side and who definitely don't make ends meet with #FLOSS I don't assume malice or incompetence unless proven otherwise.
Granted #Dayon is AFAICT the only competitive offering if #MeshCentral, #RustDesk & #Remotely are too overkill and that works on the convenient "Reverse-Server" model where one needs to only configure the network on the Assistant end, not on the end of the user seeking help.
@ml I've heard of #RustDesk, but lets just say the whole "it's not #SaaS!" when it clearly is a #subscription #licensing scheme is kinda off-putting to me...

That doesn't mean they are bad - far from it.
I just use #Dayon because it's very easy to walkthrough #TechIlliterates when it comes to getting #RemoteSupport up and running with them.
@nsysteme @expertenkommision_cyberunfall @gborn Okay, #RustDesk muss ich mir mal ansehen...
Sieht jedenfalls nach nem #AnyDesk-Ersatz aus und damit auch granularer mit Rechte-Managment & Co.
So there i was, pooterising away from my own home, on dad's pooter, inside the #KFedora VM i'm still setting up, via #RustDesk [which today has behaved much better than t'other day] when abruptly the connection failed & RD insisted that the remote pooter was offline. Cobblers, i said to RD, & kept on retrying, but it insisted. Same story. Bloody RD, i moaned, & launched #AnyDesk in spite. Wut, same story? Are you both ganging up on me? Rang dad, asked if by any chance he's just had a blackout. Erm, yes, sheepish reply came... he tripped a circuit breaker by having too many kitchen appliances on at once.
And so it goes...

#thought of the day: Why don't remote access applications (e.g. #Teamviewer, #VNC, #RDP, #NoMachine, #AnyDesk, #RustDesk, etc.) make a tabbed interface for supporting multiple monitors? Almost like browser tabs, tab 1 is monitor 1, tab 2 is monitor 2, tab ... is monitor ...
This seems like a much easier way to manage multiple screens than the loops I currently jump through.
Traditional RDP actually seems to handle this the best, it makes everything appear as if it is on one screen.
