After three years of relentless tracking, we’ve published a [paper](blogs.infoblox.com/threat-inte) that, for the first time, exposes the true identities behind VexTrio. This research connects real names to the various companies that form the VexTrio ecosystem. It begins with the origin story—how a group of Italians launched a successful spam and dating business. Over time, VexTrio expanded its operations into malicious adtech and online scams. For over a decade, the group employed deceptive tactics to defraud countless innocent internet users. These illegitimate gains funded the extravagant lifestyles of VexTrio’s key figures—who, despite increasing scrutiny, have yet to be fully stopped.

We’re deeply grateful to all the contributors who helped us reach this research milestone, especially @rmceoin and Tord from [Qurium](qurium.org/).

@empathicqubit Good question. I'd recommend you to check this with @monocles developers.

Personally, I run all my #XMPP+#OMEMO through @torproject /#Tor anyway, so my battery runtime is pretty garbage...

#Monocles does - AFAICT - allow to configure #notifications but since it's basically always connected that makes not much of a difference for battery runtim. Tho you can set it to if, when and how it notifies you.

MastodonDEEmpathicQubit (@empathicqubit@mastodon.de)For those that run an #XMPP server, does it seem safe enough to enable XEP-0357 if one is concerned about third party data leaks to push notification services? Is #OMEMO enough to nullify concerns? I'm using #Monocles and #Prosody and I'm trying to optimize battery usage on #Android / #LineageOS

V5.8.0 – If it’s on the Fediverse, you can embed it.

This update introduces two exciting improvements: brand-new email templates and personalized notification settings. Emails now deliver much richer content—mentions and direct messages include the full post, and the refreshed design feels modern and refined. Additionally, new follower notifications feature a profile card, making it easier to see who's interacting with your content. We've made several improvements around Embeds and Importing: Fediverse content embedding now has fallback […]

Tip #699

Tip #699

Select your preference for Download notifications.

When you download something with Vivaldi, you’ll get a system notification when the download has finished. If you don’t care to see those, you can disable the notifications and check the status of your downloads from the Downloads Panel (even the panel button itself gives you a hint about ongoing downloads).

To disable notifications:

  1. Go to Settings > Downloads.
  2. Disable “Notify on Completed Downloads”.
