Do people over here like #MongoDB? I think I kinda like the concept/tech, including the way to do queries as just JSON matchers. But in the end people are just using documents w/ a forced structure anyways and could have gone #PostgreSQL in the first place?
Web scale something something?

📡 New devlog up on Substack!
This time, I’m sharing how I set up the backend for *SevaStrife* — auth, security, logging, testing, docs… all the “boring” stuff that’s making me feel way more confident about the project.

Solo dev, learning on the fly, and honestly kinda enjoying writing tests now (coverage feels like a mini-game 😅).

#getFedihired - Know #MongoDB and/or #ElasticSearch and/or GNU/Linux #sysadm ? Expecially if you know #Ansible and/or #python and #shell scripting

A couple US or India #WFH positions opening up for 24/7 support ( includes #weekend and #holiday shifts )

US roles are US daytimes, India roles are the other 16 hours of day

DM me if you're interested ( job listings coming soon )

We should also have some SRE and dev positions and a MongoDB DBA position soon

One of the machines i maintain still runs #NixOS 24.05 for some odd reason. Today i looked into it and it was a #MongoDB dependency of the #Unifi controller running there.
Back when 24.11 released i had to compile mongo from source and it was stuck for 4 hours in what i thought was a loop.
Today it is still compiling it from source - why i do not know - but i think it is not a loop, just some pieces of warnings appearing in a recurring pattern.

Standing up @nodebb on #Docker with #MongoDB.

A little while ago I was discussing with @raf the things I am looking for in online interaction that I'm not getting from traditional or federated social media. A lot of different things came up, but the most important and central is this:
the need to be able to have deep, complex conversations with people I trust, in a way that those conversations are not ephemeral, lost in the endlessly scrolling feed, like an infinite dark plain in which attention is but a circle of candlelight—but permanent, archived, accessible.

This is because I want to be able to collaborate with people to create ideas, with complexity and nuance, for which it's necessary to be able to build on the past and plan for the future.

What suggested itself was an Internet forum.

Russian To Conclusions · Deploying NodeBB on Docker with MongoDBMy friends and I needed an Internet forum, to have deep conversations that are permanent and accessible.

Unfortunately, I have to look for a new job.

I'm an #iOS and #macOS #software #developer, experienced in #UIKit, #AppKit, #ObjectiveC, #Swift and #SwiftUI, have worked with the #Parse framework as well as #Realm / #MongoDB and the whole toolchain around it. I have been working in software development for about 30 years and am looking for a remote position (permanent role, preferably in an AT/DE startup).

So if you know someone who knows someone. Thanks for sharing. 🙏🏻
