@lea I think #PowerShell is more #cursed than any other #shell becaise #Microsoft can't be assed to have any consistency and one gets commands that look like

CamelCase.command-network.option -flag --another option +includeThis +-excludeThat :user

And it's worse than #MSDOS / cmd.exe, sh tcsh & ksh combined because it mixes up #DOS / #CPM-Style, #UNIX-style and whatever the fuck the peoole.who designed the #Refistry in #Windows felt like that particular day...

  • Makes me so fucking angry!

#Funfact: I needed less code than that to build my first bootable version of @OS1337 just by comparison!

~100 kitties in a café:meowpumpkin: (@lea)mfs will go "powershell is so easy and intuitive" and then i look up what the equivalent to chown in powershell is and the first result is this (📎1)

Grasshopper?!?! Time for another #FunFact from #Spanish!

Both of the words I know in Spanish for “grasshopper”are fun, interesting words.

—El Saltamontes. Pretty much the universal term. It’s one of those compound words with a verb (saltar) and a noun (monte). Literally: The “it jumps hills.”

—El Chapulín. Used commonly in #Mexico and #CentralAmerica. From Nahuatl (Aztec) root words meaning “it bounces like a rubber (hule) ball.”

@blog #FunFact: #AVM at least didn't correlate the default password with any serial #, tho the defaults are printed on the device.

  • Alas to reset it people need physical access to the device or rather a telephone cinnected to it and the network it's on so one can conclude that by that point people already broke into a home and their CPE is the least of their concerns!

Some say pinking shears- which create a serrated/toothed edge on fabric, were named for the petals of Dianthus flowers, many types called 'Pinks'. I suspect this is backwards- people drawing the association from the observation that the petals look like 'pinked' fabric. It is suggested that 'pinking' stems from an old word for cutting decoration into fabric.. So the flowers were likely named for the fringe rather than the reverse- though many-not all- are pink! #FunFact #words

@beelzerog #Funfact: That is literally what a fmr. employer of mine (Payment Processor) did on behalf of their partner firms.

  • I'm pretty shure not having the actual websites' but a "brown paper" / generic name appear on their credit card bills saved a shitton of marriages and people getting their accounts canceled.

All the big CC companies doing their 'morale police' shite know exactly that adult content and -products are the reason they didn't get obsoleted by PayPal and the only reason Monero didn't obsolete them yet is that they still have more acceptance and issuers!

  • I mean, wirecard (I didn't work for them!) made their money with gambling, adult content and providing liquidity to field agents on both sides of the atlantic...

Phew, this week felt like living inside a baked loaf. Temperatures soared into the low 30s °C (that’s 86 °F-plus for those still converting in their heads), and even the office plants staged a sit-in, demanding more water. Good news: Friday should be slightly kinder, highs around 23 °C with a light breeze. Perfect for cracking open the window and letting the week’s warmth drift out.
