I successfully managed to install #libreoffice. In German! Fuck yeah!!! :-D ...
It's not that hard to get used to Linux. Especially when coming from #apple #macos. I am an absolute newbie when it comes to Linux, and I have chosen a not-so-easy Linux distribution. But oh boy, is CachyOS quick! ...
I just managed to install all updates necessary, and I also installed #gimp and #thunderbird, including connecting to mailbox.org!
That was quick.
I am happy now :-) ...

Though I think they should try Vanilla #Ubuntu and #RockyLinux too

IDK how it's in #CachyOS, but in other #distros you get the app store by default.
Nachdem ich darüber las, dass Linux mittlerweile für Gaming gut geeignet ist und teilweise sogar besser performt, bin ich schließlich umgestiegen. Dabei habe ich ein paar Distributionen (stümperhaft) gebenchmarkt. Aber zur groben Orientierung mag das reichen. Eventuell interessiert es ja den einen oder anderen, daher der Toot.

@andreas_heitmann ich habe es jetzt noch mal auf einer freien Partition installiert.
Wo ist der Unterschied zu Manjaro und ist der im Echtzeit-Betrieb feststellbar?
- Mauszeiger vergrößert
- Scaling des Bildschirms vergrößert
- Firefox synchronisiert sich
Was mir fehlt:
- Bildschirmlupe
Ich arbeite mich vorwärts ... ;-)
Und ja, CachyOS arbeitet sehr flott
