There are some Americans I admire, Martin Luther King and Dwight Eisenhower come to mind.
George #Carlin though, is the essential American, the sort of person who could only be an American in his thoughts and manner. He understood what made the United States once the most admired country in the world. But he also saw clearly what the problems were and he was free to express his ideas, jokes, and feelings however he wanted. He served his country in more ways than just as an airman in the USAF.
I miss him.

@Leah Sure, although generally speaking, that would be against the law. Somebody fired for refusing to execute illegal orders is already a #hero; I wouldn’t ask them to further put themselves at risk.
And then there’s a whole theoretical discussion about what constitutes legitimate #civilDisobedience in the face of an immoral order vs. simply breaking the law.
I would agree however that the severity of the situation is such that a great deal of civil disobedience is called for.

It backfired because #russia is not being defeated by Americans led by Trump #Krasnov on the battlefield. That historical feat is being accomplished by brave and courageous Ukrainians led by President #Zelenskyy.
