@tprophet I've seen more than a few #DietrichBonhoeffer quotes and blog posts floating around these days, and I think they perfectly encapsulate the US' descent into authoritarian madness.

It's become obvious that we are living through an age of great stupidity; the same social disorder that befell 1930s Germany has taken deep root in the US, Russia and China.

You can not rely on the US any more... not as a partner in trade, mutual defense or the rule of law.

PS God, when you see him again for coffee please extend my thanks to Dietrich Bonhoeffer, the namesake of my website, for his fierce resistance against the Nazi regime. He gave us all an example of how we should live.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer was born on 4 February 1906 in Breslau, then Germany (now Poland). He was a German Lutheran pastor, theologian and anti-Nazi dissident. Bonhoeffer was accused of being associated with the 20 July plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler and was tried along with other accused plotters. He was hanged on 9 April 1945 as the Nazi regime was collapsing.
