I tried color film with the Brownie. This is Harman Phoenix, which I found out after the fact is a bit artsy/experimental.

The friendly folks at Foto Express in San Jose complimented me on getting good results with this film, as others have had issues. Definitely not because of any mastery of the craft on my part!
It sounds like people have tended to get underexposed results. The point/shoot/hope-for-the-best nature of using a Brownie helped me to err on the side of overexposure and that turned out to be a good thing here.

Shot another roll of Harman Phoenix 200. Not as pleased with the shots as last time -- really confirms to me that the film really responds best on sunny days. It was pretty overcast for most of these shots and I don't think the film's reputation for intense colors is served best under those conditions.

Still, having fun. Just gonna wait for another sunny day!

So here's where it gets challenging! If you point it at dead winter plant material like this in overcast light, it has *vibes*. Really, really interesting results and I would like to try more like this.

...but of course it's at most ISO 200 and it needs a lot of light.

So all I need to find is overcast winter conditions in Scotland where there is still enough light to manage sub-200 ISO. Pffft, how hard can it be? 🤷‍♀️
