Dang, FREAKY TALES is such a fun movie, and I'm amazed it's gotten so little attention! Hilarious, gorgeous, action-packed, & emotionally rich, with Pedro Pascal & tons of cool cameos. Plus everybody vs. skinheads. Immensely gratifying. Too bad it's so hard to find!

If you're in the Bay Area, you must see it at Oakland's Grand Lake Theatre! It's there through at least May 6. renaissancerialto.com

Stick around for the end credits music video ✨

More SF in food. Better than waiting in line all day for Bill Graham which I did consider

Arsicault - blackberry almond hazelnut croissant (🐐) and morning bun

El Castillito - Burrito al pastor

Hog Island - Seafood stew and Bourbon chipotle oysters

I'm shocked. At tonight's meeting of the #SF #Democratic County Central Committee (DCCC), bylaws and Robert's Rules were tossed aside. A proxy was allowed to vote on multiple items, then retroactively rejected after public comment, and the absence was declared unexcused.

It got worse: a motion was made but never seconded on a particularly controversial resolution authored by the very member whose absence had just been declared unexcused. Instead of addressing it, the Chair permitted a second motion and called a vote before even asking for a second on the first.

This isn't how democratic procedure works. If the Democratic Party can't follow its own rules, why should anyone trust it?

One of my favorite restaurants in San Francisco at the moment is Yemeni Kabab & Mediterranean near Market & Taylor.

The traditional haneeth, kabsa and mandi plates are excellent. The mezzes are fantastic. They have very affordable lunch plates too, and I love the tea they offer. One of those small homey places with seriously good food and vibes.

It’s much better than restaurants in that category that cost 2x more.

The old Sunset magazine campus in Menlo Park, with its beautiful old MCM buildings and landscaping, is in danger of being razed for development. Sunset created much of the "western living" ethos there in the 1950s, but the property is not (yet) considered historic.

I know the bay area desperately needs development but there's a lot that will be lost here, and I feel sad about it. Article has more info and an email address to comment (before 4/30).
