Confortablement installé sur la grève, l'érable regardait le crépuscule prendre ses aises. Les grandes marées d'équinoxe avaient noyé le fjord de Tarentaise, ne laissant émerger que quelques sommets enneigés.

Comfortably installed on the shore, the maple tree watched the twilight take its ease. The equinox tides had drowned the Tarentaise fjord, leaving only a few snow-capped peaks to emerge.

The Black Tower.

Built in the early 13th century, this tower is the only remaining part of the original first wall around Brussels. By the 15th century, it became private property (due to the building of the second fortification, it had long lost its purpose) and is one of the reasons it survived for so long.

In 1937, it became the first protected building in the city. It is notable for being a single medieval tower surrounded by modern-day buildings and thus has become a popular tourist destination.

A medieval tower with a concave roof partly overgrown with well maintained ivy. Buit around it is a higher, modern buildings in red/orange and grey. This combination has something very strange to it.
