More than 130,000 electric stoves recalled in Canada due to fire risk from front knobs
A recall has been posted for a number of LG free-standing electric ranges due to the fire risk posed by accidental activation of the front knobs that control the stovetop burners. More than 130,000 units have been sold in Canada, and two injuries have been reported.

#Mexico is the largest exporter of #automotive parts to the #US. #Honda, for instance, produces around 200k vehicles in Mexico, & ships about 160k of those to the US. American carmakers like #GeneralMotors & #Ford Motor, which have major plants in Mexico & #Canada, would be similarly affected by #Trump’s #tariffs.

…Mexico is also home to other major manufacturers that make #aerospace equipment, #electronics, home #appliances & more. It is the largest exporter of #MedicalDevices to the US.

  • Don't they know that they artifically kneecap themselves as noone's gonna buy that shit nor will it increase sales of their C-Series Movie Cameras?

Cuz even my first digital camera, a shitty "Polaroid ION 210" let me use it as a #Webcam and it even included a #Dock to do so without having to have a #battery inserted (it could also charge the battery and also had an extra slot for a replacement battery) that doubled as a USB Hub and SD-Cardreader!

  • #DRM and other bs is just bad, espechally on #appliances that are exensive, have no business to be connected to the Internet nor any valid reason to require a #subscription!

You know what a #DSLR & #DSLM should need to keep working? Toolfree, user-replaceable memory and batteries and a power source to get the latter recharged or powered!

So not sure what tags to use here so some recommendations would be appreciated.

Have an electric dryer available (LG 5955G). It is in working condition and being replaced due to having ordered a package set as my washer crossed the rainbow circuit board.

I do have it for sale but if someone with a need for it in the Ottawa area wants it, it's free for the taking.

A lazy-fedi request.

My recent bread baking forced me to consider a countertop dishwasher rather than keep hand washing. Primarily to save 💲

After researching, I'm settling on this Danby. It is highly rated and a very good price. It is big enough to handle my larger cooking stuff. It uses 11.6l of water per wash which is far less than hand washing. Regular detergent. I have the space.

Any thoughts or comments?
