I'm my working role I run #Agile teams. We change and iterate all the time to reach our goal. We make mistakes and learn, adapt. We discuss and change, disagree, change, make mistakes, change. It works well. Why can't that be accepted in our #government too? Run by humans like me, like us?

Original post from May/11:

I just discovered I got blocked by somebody whose opinion and posts I highly value.

Since can't imagine (or remember) which interaction might have triggered this course of action, I tried to reconstruct our last interaction(s) from web searches, and discovered the following:

(a) This is practically impossible to find past interaction with specific accounts.

(b) A couple of other accounts *I* have been following formerly which now block me without me remembering any untowards interaction with them.

This all makes me unexpectedly sad.

I think I'll put in another Mastodon moratorium for an indeterminate length of time.

Looking back, Mastodon did not really work for me, with what I'd term "meaningful" connections. This is very likely the way my mind works.

If anybody can recommend communities related to #lisp, #agile, #softwareengineering or #infosec, I'd appreciate if you could reply or DM. I am still missing connection there (after 2.5 years of Fedi, which should tell me something).

----

Part of the problem (of not being able to reconstruct interaction) is, that all my posts are set to auto-delete after 1 week.

TIL: This has disadvantages.

----

(Why repeat this? For pinning. I got an unfortunate case of Fediplaining in reply to the original post, and I want to drop that)

Ford: "We run most of that on our own GPUs. We have Nvidia GPUs. We have a few thousand. Five, six years ago, we moved everything to the cloud, except high-performance compute. GPU compute in the cloud has been crazy expensive and also just difficult to get. I don’t blame them for charging that much. Sometimes it just wasn’t available. It’s like Taylor Swift tickets. We’ve been fortunate having thousands of our own GPUs."

There is a lot of conflict between developers who say #LLM tools are making them more productive, and developers who want to quit and move to a cabin in the woods.

Recently I discovered a possible reason why. #AI is just a bad fit for conventional, reality-based models of value creation like #Agile. But those who practce the Brazilian methodology eXtreme Go Horse are able to seamlessly integrate these tools into their workflow.

(this is satire, please do not attempt)

Medium · The future of AI-driven development isn’t Agile. It’s XGH.By Pavel Samsonov

In my STEM studies, the content is typically objective, factual, mechanical, and devoid of humanity.

More recently, first through #leanthinking, and then into #agile, #systemsthinking, #industrialengineering, I've come to realize that engineering with humanity creates progress for everyone, for the long term.

Thinkers like Galbraith, Follett, and Matthews show us a fair path, showing the bigger picture and putting humanity over profits.

IMHO, @debcha belongs in that same pantheon.
