Lunchtime run

We ran from Harestanes up to the Waterloo Memorial and back, a mainly circular route, all tracks, 8.5k. A lovely temperature.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waterloo

The third photograph shows the lochan that many years ago we unwisely thought 'looks lovely let's get in'. Turns out there is 1m of water above a thick, deep sludge so never again - plastic bags on the seats of the car and several showers to get clean again.

I am almost there!!

My #running goal is completed.

But my fundraising goal is so close! There is still time to donate, if you wish to do so and have the ability to. Any small amount helps. The funds go to the great #montreal children's hospital Ste Justine foundation.

I am deeply grateful to all of you who already donated, and everyone else who considered it. 🙏

Trying a carbon-plated trail runner (Endorphin Edge). Less bounce on dirt, but you feel it going uphill. Stable on hard-packed downhill. A little unstable on uneven downhill with roots. Needs heel lock lacing because I sized up for width. #running

Well, friends. I spent a very enjoyable and arguably very weird evening #running all about town with a bunch of like-minded people, searching for clues on our running scramble. Think it was about 10k in the end, although a lot of it was foraging in trees looking for clues (which is why I was found hiding in a bush with no trousers on, Your Honour). Lovely bunch of people. Arguably we won, although it wasn't about that (IT TOTALLY WAS WE BEAT THAT OTHER TEAM OF TOTAL LOSERS AAAAAAAH). Although they claimed some technicality that one of the 'evidence photos' we took we weren't all in because we lost half of our team somehow at one point. But I think that is a travesty of justice and they're just sore losers. Ultimately the real winner was Guys Hospital, which we raised a very respectable amount of cash for and now I feel like I've done some small material good in the world and am pretty happy all over. Made some tofu souvlaki earlier with seasoned wedges and aoili and whatnot, which is surprisingly excellent, and am now going to sit down and chill like a vill. Beaming all the best to you absolute bunch of legends. May your names echo through the Halls of Valhalla for all eternity. X

WHAT A DAY!

Right...... I'm now off for a 7k scramble (treasure hunt) event to raise money for Guys Hospital. Give some bloody money to Guys Hospital you bastards! Only joking - we've tripled the target so I will let you off. This is how I relax now. It's so chaotic at home with work and family I have to literally run away to get any peace. Hope you're marvellous and I must tell you this...... I love you. PEACE OUT HOMIES. X

Morning run

A combination of roads and tracks up through the Mintos (makes two little hillocks sound grand doesn't it 🤣). After a year of relatively gentle running (not enough time) we are just getting back to doing a reasonable distance per day, even if split over 3 sessions. The dug still waits for me with a slightly pained look on his face. 13k, missed the showers and a very comfortable temerature.
