SNOW SHOWERS FOR SOME:

The Colorado low-pressure system pushing through the #Northland will bring plenty of #precipitation, with #rain transitioning to #snow throughout Monday.

Some spots in the Boundary Waters and the South Shore snowbelt regions will see accumulation.

A futurecast model over the Northland shows the precipitation coming through the region with a Colorado low-pressure system will begin as rain, but will start to transition to a rain/snow to all snow north of Highway 2 by sunrise Monday.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for northern Cook, northern Lake, and northern St. Louis counties Monday, April 14, 2025. With snow showers likely in this region throughout the day, up to 4 inches of accumulation is possible on grassy and lesser traveled roadways.

While a rain/snow mix is possible across the Northland Monday, a transition to all snow showers is looking likely across the region Monday night. The highest snowfall will be along the South Shore snowbelt region.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Gogebic, Iron, and Ontonagon counties for Monday evening through Tuesday morning. 2 to 5 inches of snowfall is possible in this region.

NORTHLAND FORECAST FOR APRIL 2, 2025:

A strong #storm system will bring #snow #showers through the #Northland Tuesday night and Wednesday. Some #snowfall rates will be up to 1” per hour at times.

Some #mixed #precipitation will take place over northwest #Wisconsin and the #UpperPeninsula. #Winds will be strong with gusts over 30 mph likely with #temperatures in the 30s.

LATEST ON NEXT STORM SYSTEM:

After a calm end to March, April will start off #stormy for the #Northland as a strong #strom system will push through the #GreatLakes region.

Heavy #snow #showers will be the main focus Tuesday night for everyone. Then we have to watch for mixed #precipitation for some of us on Wednesday...

The Winter Storm Watch for Aitkin, Bayfield, Carlton, Cook, Douglas, Itasca, Koochiching, Lake, Pine, and St. Louis counties remains in effect for the evening of Tuesday, April 1, 2025, through all of Wednesday, April 2, 2025. This is the area of the Northland where snowfall totals of at least 6-inches are likely with the next storm system coming through the region.

The first half of this storm system will see snow showers throughout the Northland Tuesday night. They will be widespread with heavy snowfall rates of up to 1-inch per hour likely in spots.

Due to the low's possible path through the Northland, the Minnesota side of the Northland will see snow showers persist Wednesday. Northwest Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula will see sleet, freezing rain, and rain mix in with the snow showers. That will limit snowfall totals in this region, but also increase the chance for possible minor icing on surfaces.

#Snowfall totals will be highest along the South Shore snowbelt region, with 4" - 8"+ likely. Amounts will decrease as one moves farther away from this region.

2nd WINTER STORM FOR NORTHLAND:

After Friday's #storm system brought everything from #freezingrain to #hail, a second system will be pushing through the region the rest of this weekend.

The focus for #winter-like #precipitation will be along and south of Highway 2.
