On the day the #Maxell blank #cassettes arrived I tried to see if if the new-to-me #Pioneer CT-300 #cassette player from the #80s still records fine.
It's going to need some work. The seller sadly somewhat "oversold" its working condition. Fortunately it's fairly easy to find replacement belts, I just need to wait a bit.

To the side of the cassette player is a stack of five blank cassette tape cases, four of which are still shrink wrapped. The fifth is currently in the player, which has a small red light on indicating it is currently recording. Further to the left of the blank cassettes the "Midnights" LP album by Taylor Swift is laying, right in front of a candle light that is turned on. On the wall behind all this a metal wireframe on which a handful of photos are attached. Most every photo is of Yamgom, our black chow-chow mix dog in various poses and wearing various accessories. The overall mood of the photo gives me a sort of 90s nostalgic vibe, in large part due to the prevalence of physical objects that in the modern day more often than have become fully digital (photos, music).

Did anyone have a CD audio player back in the day that featured CD+G video output?

I got my first CD player in 1985, a Pioneer PD-5010 which had CD+G output, but I never had the cable and didn't have the tech sense to search for it beyond just the local Circuit City.

I never saw the visuals. 😠

Hey, Tenchi fans! Some of my good friends have created their own company in order to do exciting things--starting with licensing the American adaptation of Tenchi that Pioneer commissioned way back in the 90s!

Usually called "Pioneer comics," these were done for the series Moldiver, Phantom Quest Corp, El-Hazard and Tenchi. In this case, they're re-releasing the Pioneer comics for Tenchi in a snazzy omnibus collection! And it ships EVERYWHERE! (Except Japan. Because of course.)
