The opening track “Devil Inside” has some killer guitar playing, and interstellar keyboards. It’s so badass.

Bong hits recommended.

On @somafm Indiepop Rocks this is the only contemporary Dutch artist that is getting some airtime. Completely understandable, Amber Arcades is simply amazing. Eefje de Visser level but then in English.

This is an album from 2023 but I haven't listened to it enough yet. It's also because I totally loved European Heartbreak and this one feels more ambitious, bigger, more serious.

Amber Arcades - Barefoot on Diamond Road

A distinct sound and great songs. A bit like a restrained SVIIB which is good because SVIIB, who I like a lot too, can be quite overwhelming. Yeah, this is somewhat more in the direction of Beach House.

Enough namedropping, let's drop this gem on the platter.

HUGE Spoon fan. Got hooked when I saw them playing live together with Silkworm and Guided By Voices back in 1996 in De Melkweg, Amsterdam.

My wife showed me the teaser for Catch These Fists yesterday. Now I have to spin their debut. Can't wait for a new album!
