Jagmeet Singh deserved a lot better than he got from Canada considering what he endured.

"Singh told reporters in April that police had advised him in the winter of 2023 that his life could be in danger. They did not tell him who was behind the threat but he said the implication was that it was a foreign government.

He said he stayed in his basement, avoided windows and considered quitting politics over fears about his family’s safety. He decided to carry on but was forced to lead the NDP for a period under police protection.”

I hope Carney brings this up with Modi next week, but now with the tragedy of the air crash…

First Nations leaders like Grand Chief Alvin Fiddler of Nishnawbe Aski Nation are clear: "We’ll be asking for the Minister of Indigenous Affairs, Greg Rickford, to resign."

Rickford is the Minister responsible for upholding the rights of First Nations. But he helped push it through Bill 5 without proper consultation, without consent, and without respect.

Greg Rickford has broken trust. He cannot remain in this role. Add your name: kristynwongtam.ca/rickford-mus #OnPoli #Ontario #Bill5 #NDP

WSIB workers with OCEU 1750 help all injured workers in Ontario. I joined them in solidarity as they rallied today at Queen's Park. Striking workers deserve a fair deal and better working conditions. It's wrong that half of Ontario's long-term injured workers live at risk of poverty. Join me in demanding that the #WSIB Board of Directors agree to minimum staffing levels at cupe.ca/wsib #OnPoli #Ontario #Toronto #ToPoli #NDP #OntarioNDP #TorCen #TorontoCentre

If Carney uses Harper votes to govern from now on you will still feel like you defeated rhe right? Stopped climate chaos?

Really?

You hear warnings about policy from the NDP and you hope Poiliever will help Carney ignore the warning?

You like Carney saying PharnaCare is intrinsic to Canada, but forget Singh had to FORCE it on Trudeau with vote threats?

If #Carney submits to Danielle Smith’s demands under #Alberta’s childish threat to separate, this #NDP voter will lend no more future votes to the #Liberals.

I live in an area upended by the #TMX construction for years. Hundreds of ignored protests, years of tall blue fences surrounding our local trails adorned with threats of incarceration. Dirty oiler flags and dirty workers smirking at residents anger as they idled their trucks for hours destroying our local habitat.

Alberta is admitting to #Canada they will never be content unless they are given carte blanche to destroy BC ecosystems and build new pipelines, despite lack of demand for their product.

There will always be another devastating project being forced upon us by #DanielleSmith and her heartless O&G Barons. This time, she’s content to sacrifice #BC’s #haidagwaii and North Coast, all for the sake of a dirty, greedy, corrupt Oil and Gas Industry. This will not end well.

Former Canadian Member of Parliament Charlie Angus tells Rachel and David how he got into politics, and how he's working now to bring people together to fight the threats to democracy. He also touches on his past and present as a punk rocker, drops the answers to two trivia questions, and gives his recommendation for the best song for a resistance playlist. The Legislative Building rotunda was draped with Pride flags and packed with allies, drag artists, politicians and staff for the noon-hour celebration of Pride Week.

“This is the people’s building,” Premier Wab Kinew told the crowd flanked by the NDP caucus. “I hope you always feel welcome here — today, especially — and especially during Pride Week.”

FINALLY, it's about time the #UCp did something Albertans actually want their government to do, instead of simply continuing to do alll the things they promised NOT to do during the campaign. Go Naheed Nenshi!

If they win all three ridings ('districts'? American says what?) the NDP must be getting close to needing less than four more votes for a successful NO CONFIDENCE vote, triggering a provincial election.

@Dianora
It's why I don't give free passes to #BCNDP & their supporters. They're major ecociders, big on #eugenics & they want to keep protecting privileged #StatusQuo crap. They're #neoliberals by their own party choices to keep shifting to the right & putting corporate greed/backroom bucks above greater public interests. They aren't learning much from huge federal loss with #NDP & their own narrow provincial win. Pitiful & dangerous.
