Funny how the simple act of updating packages in apt creates a level of fear. But then I remember that it’s not 2005, and Debian, and all Linux systems and pretty much all modern Operating Systems are incredibly robust. Upgrades are not just safe, but expected and required.

I love that this is federated, and that I own this like I own my own site (as much as you can own a service when it runs on someone else's server infrastructure).

This way, I am not reliant on someone other than my hosting provider to keep my stuff going.

So, I'm finding out the hard way that if you start a new Mastodon server, nobody can find you.

Question for everyone: is there a good guide to setting up #Webhooks on the Mastodon instance you #admin?

I'm just now doing that project over the holiday break here and could use more documentation as I'm new to webhooks and to the specific steps to implement with #mastodon server.

I know the official documentation in the mastodon server docs. Looking for something a bit more helpful to someone new to webhooks.
