It's #GivingTuesday and I'm raising money for #GenderNexus. They're *the* statewide trans-led organization providing services and advocacy for the #Hoosier #transgender community. Their director, Emma Vosicky, is a good friend and we're gonna need her leadership desperately in the coming years.

Donate to GenderNexus today to support a local organization providing direct service to our #Indiana #trans community.

Reflecting on our upcoming move to #Tennessee I observe that the Volunteer State are even redder than they are here in #Hoosier land. But it’s a state where we can afford to live. Meanwhile #Minnesota, which was my preferred relocation choice, was way too rich for our blood, and it’s also a pretty blue state. This appears to be a pattern. It’s interesting to me that, by and large, it’s less costly to live in red states than in blue ones. Too bad the politics are so odious.

#OTD Rachel Peden, #Indiana #Writer, is born.

Her #Father was a #Fruit #Farmer, & she called him "the #Orchardist" in her #Writing.

A self-described #Hoosier #Farmwife, Rachel's #Byline was "Mrs. RFD" (for "Rural Free Delivery"). Her columns in The #Indianapolis Star & The #Muncie Evening News charmed readers with stories about #Nature & #Farm #Life.

She wrote:

"[I #Love] the #Therapy of working in [the #Garden] & my #Neighbors from the #Natural #World that I meet there."

A quick introduction from me! I am new to the world of Mastodon and migrated to a new instance this weekend--still figuring this all out.

I live in Indianapolis. I'm an attorney. I'm a mom to 4 teens, several of whom are queer. I'm an activist who co-founded a PAC (Our Choice Coalition) after Dobbs to try to get pro-choice candidates elected to state offices in Indiana.

Glad to be here!
