There is a place where I love to go: Scotland. When I go there ( and I do it oftenly) I drive to the Isle of Skye and I go trekking to the Fairy Pools.
It's so moody there and intense. It is (for me) Wilderness.

tl;dr Olen entistä lähempänä neljääkymmentä ikävuotta lähestyvä IT-nörtti, joka edelleen innostuu aivan liian helposti aivan liian monista asioista.

Arki pyörii perhe-elämän, IT-alan töiden ja monien harrastusten parissa.

Harrastuksia löytyy paljon, ja ehkä se onkin tätä nykyä se pääsyy, miksi haluan olla somessa - jotta löytäisin harrastuksiini liittyviä samanhenkisiä ihmisiä.

Olen varmaan jonkinlainen salirotta, mutta tykkään myös monenlaisesta aerobisesta liikunnasta. Juoksu, uinti ja pyöräily on tämän hetken valinnat.

Lisäksi olen harrastanut toista vuotta Yang-tyylin taijia. Reilu kymmenen vuotta sitten harrastin myös pari vuotta Wudang-tyylisuunnan "käytännöllisempää" taijia, ja olisinkin sitä halunnut jatkaa, mutta paikallisesti täällä ei ollut sille opetusta. Todella hieno laji, jonka oppiminen on vasta alussa ja kestää varmasti koko loppuelämän.

Olen elänyt yli puolet elämästäni selkävaivaisena. Sekä täällä, että muilla somealustoilla olen pitänyt lukua #selkämies-tunnisteella aina kun aiheen puolesta on ollut jotain sanottavaa. Viimeisimpien, pari vuotta sitten sattuneiden pitkien kipuepisodien myötä päätin muuttaa kurssia elämässäni ja yksi tärkeimmistä tehtävistä tuon päätöksen jälkeen on ollut saada kipu pois. Olen jo melko hyvin onnistunut ja saanut sitä vähennettyä, tuloksena painonmuutos -15kg ja aimo annos terveyttä, voimantuottoa ja suorituskykyä on tullut tilalle. Aion jatkaa tällä tiellä ja tavoitteenani on parin vuoden päästä, 40 vuotta täytettyäni, olla elämäni parhaassa kunnossa - toivottavasti ilman kipua kaverinani.

#pelaaminen eri muodoissaan on ollut mukana 4-vuotiaasta lähtien, eikä vauhti ole vuosien varrella hiljentynyt. Videopelit, lautapelit, pöytäroolipelit, korttipelit.. pelit ku pelit!

Poden tällä hetkellä myös vakavanpuoleista lukuintoa.

Hi there! Now that I’ve started populating my feed a bit I wanted to introduce myself!

I’m Dr. Sophia Basaldua-Sun, a scholar of comparative literature turned publishing professional (I work in trade publishing now).

As a way of keeping in touch with my academic roots I created an Instagram blog about canonical novels, research, learning, and lately a bit of travel content as well.

I really love engaging with the book community, and especially with journaling, junk journaling, and creative journaling communities. Even though I’m more of a note taker than a journaler, I love observing and learning new ways of making my notebooks more visually interesting.

So that’s a little about me! And I hope you’ll tell me a little about you and join me for an occasional (okay three times a week) dose of learning about literature and comparative literature.
