So much has been done to erase the toll of #COVID that it's noteworthy this was published.

It's not just the aftermath of COVID, but a reminder that you should be doing your utmost to make sure academia is anti-ableist and accessible, even if you don't think you'll ever become disabled. Disability is one of the marginalized groups you can easily transition into.

URGENT MUTUAL AID - $0/175

Hello all! It's your friendly neighborhood mod Glitch, and I am in need of some help.

I am a trans nonbinary disabled neurodivergent individual (ME/CFS) who is unable to work. I have not yet been able to get disability, so until I do get it, I'm in need of some help.

I don't get my EBT benefits until Wednesday, and we have a heat wave coming this week, and I need to get some foods that don't require heating so I can avoid using the stove and microwave. In addition, I need to get some more cat food/cat litter and personal care/hygiene items.

Help is much appreciated.

How did this happen in a month!!?? O.o

I went from taking about 4.5 years to reach 250 subs and now in a month it hiked up 50 new people reading my little comic of (currently) 152 episodes!

Thank You All so much for all the support!!!

And if you fancy reading a free comic about a rare, neurological sleep disorder (IH) and share about it to spread awareness - please do:

During the California farm raids, ICE attacked a person in wheelchair.

Proving once again that they’re no more than modern day Brownshirt bullies.

A canister of tear gas had been thrown at the disabled man and landed underneath his wheelchair, making it difficult for him to move.

Jonathan Caravello, a lecturer in philosophy from California State University Channel Islands, tried to defend the man in the wheelchair.

He was reportedly piled on by multiracial IVE agents, tackled and arrested.

His crime? Trying to protect a disabled immigrant.

We just keep sinking to new lows.

I want to say thank you to professor Caravello for doing the right thing and standing up for someone who’s was unfairly put in harms way.

He’s a hero.

These are great recommendations from @pesh and @Aubrie on how #amtrak can better serve passengers with disabilities. These accommodations should be baseline and not tacked on as an afterthought for any service! Making things accessible makes them better for everyone!

If you have chronic pain and you garden, I have to seriously recommend an expanding garden hose.

I was struggling with watering, because our old hoses were heavy and awkward both during and at clean up. It was wiping out my spoons hard and I can't afford to install micro irrigation at the moment.

It was a little bit of an investment financially, but has made a chore feel closer to effortless than I had ever expected. I can carry a 100' hose with almost no effort now.

I'm usually a use something until it dies person, and our hoses were still technically functional, but sometimes you need to be kind to your body.

I’m starting to see a major pattern in the “Autistic Advice” arena, meaning places where autistic people educate and help one another.

1. They don’t actually seem to be run by Autistic people and seem to make no accommodation for being autistic…

2. The advice is split between, “mask and never tell them you’re autistic” and “advocate for yourself and get accommodations” without anything in between.
