Amadou Balaké – Super Bar Konon Mousso

Although the video says it was recorded in Lagos in 1978, the reality, as Discogs states and as many musicians and bands did at that time, is that Amadou Balaké (or Ballaké) from Burkina Faso gathered musicians in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

It’s a safe assumption that Ernie has long passed, since he was in his late sixties when we last saw each other in 2001, but you never know.

Nyboma & les Kamale Dynamiques

Orchestre Kamale (aka “Kamale Dynamiques”) was formed in 1975 by singer Nyboma Mwan’dido with members of Orchestre Lipua-Lipua, where he was a singer from 1973 to 1975 and where he had his first hit “Kamale”.
Orchestre Kamale didn’t last very long and split up in 1978.

When I saw this today, I didn’t know what it was.
ALL I saw was the title “Living With Lesbians”, along with “Featuring The Lesbian Power Authority”, & a picture of 5 long-ball hitters standing in front of a pile of skulls holding gardening tools.

I thought, “oh fuck yeah”.

Turns out, an important, visionary female #folk artist from #nyc.

Lorsqu’un groupe de jeunes dirigé par Dindo Yogo (Théodore Djangi Dindo Yogo) et Nseka dit “Huit Kilos” forment l’Orchestre Macchi autour 1973-74, ils proposent un nouveau son à travers la guitare de Huit Kilos et l’ensemble des musiciens.

Dindo Yogo (1955-2000) a été le chanteur de Zaïko Langa Langa entre 1984 et 1991.
