Some odd #artpop for a mini lunchtime spin.

Frank Chickens were a #japanese duo who were formed in London. Since then, many more members have joined, &they’re a kind of art-pop performance troupe.

Blue Canary is definitely a vibe, as is the instrumental B-side. They’re both on YouTube, so I’ll let you find out for yourself, but before you do, you may want to take a few bong hits first.

A little #funk -y #soul for breakfast.

Some of the bass lines on this album are truly nasty, fuzzed out and elastic. Funky is an understatement.

Hoover was Canadian, from #vancouver #BritishColumbia and I stumbled upon this record while flipping through a soul section, so I just threw a dart at it.
Man it’s really good.

Hoover was once on the same bill as Vanilla Fudge & a young & upcoming band named LED FUCKING ZEPPELIN.

So fun, despite the latter day sin of “Love Shack”, a song that I cannot stand to this day.
You couldn’t go anywhere back then without hearing that song. I hate it so much.

All that being said, I still listen to the 1st TWO records regularly.

The perfect record for a soaking wet, dour Monday night.

I bought this at a now-defunct thrift store here about 10 years ago for $1.

It is a hauntingly beautiful folk record, and the only one that Mueller ever made. Her rendition of “Babe I’m Gonna Leave You” is staggering.

Not much else to tell you, as information about her is scarce at best.

Was shocked to see how much $ this is going for now.
