#Scrollbook photos from my animation work yesterday.
This was the most fascinating for the children: You can collect tiny scraps (paper or fabric) only because you like their colour or texture. And then you can value them, give them your own story with wild stitching.
I'm already thinking about children's workshops for our summer holiday program ...

Small scraps of saree silk and lace: I loved the pink-pea-green weaving and the acid yellowish green. So I collected the scraps, fixed them with yellow and purple thread.

One of my favourite fabric scraps, silk, green-pink weaving. I fixed it with intuitive stitching on paper from a used teabag. This book is also for reading with the hands: The silky touch, the smooth paper, the wild textures of the embroidery stitches.

A very small saree silk scrap. It's bright rosé with an ornamental print in purple and dark red. The wild stitches follow the ornament.

I have framed my recent #quilting inspired studies and will be showing them at the upcoming @peakdistrictartisans #SpringArtFair 12/13 April. They were all supposed to be the same size but unfortunately I picked up two different sizes of Aida fabric for them so the blue one is a bit bigger You live and learn!

The scrollbook in full length. Description in post 1. It's a colourful collage of scraps and wild embroidery on a bright purple flannel. It can be hanged on a wall or rolled on a vintage wooden bobbin.

A detail shows wild stitching in variegated thread (red, pink, and green nuances) that looks like writing in an unknown language. Some other scraps are fixed with unregular purple embroidery: green saree silk, used teabag paper and lace.

Detail: Some scraps are tiny but fascinating in their colours like a yellowish green silk square and a rectangle of green-pink woven silk on tea bag paper.

Silk, teabag, and lace scraps fixed with wild and wobbly stitches in bright yellow and purple. I have no idea what I want to stitch and let me guide intuitively by the scraps and their colours. It's like painting or making a collage with paper and mixed media.

For all who like to see my #scrollBook project in progress, I start a thread for new photos.
The idea: Having art small enough for a handbag or hanged on a wall. 'Writing' a #book that can't get copied by AI or people - but can be inspiring for others.
Materials: A vintage wooden bobbin, tea-dyed coton flannel, #teaBags, #sareeSilk scraps, #lace, #embroidery, glass rocailles.

Part of my scrollbook with a needle and yellowish green thread. On a background of bright purple flannel a collage of small white lace, a square of a used teabag and scraps of saree silk. The spuares and rectangles are laid in a collage composition and get fixed with wild, wobbly stitches. One silk scrap in rosé has a beautiful dark lilac and red ornamental print.

A wide band of cotton flannel that is later wrapped around an old bobbin. The fabric is light purple, dyed with red fruit tea. Pieces in the colour spectrum of pink, purple and yellow-green are applied like a collage: saree silk, lace, used tea bags, glass beads. They are attached with intuitive stitches, wild embroidery.

I almost bought some gorgeous and huge Ukrainian jewellery made from woven rocailles, which I don't have the opportunity to wear. So I went back to hoarding colours at our Festival of Wool and Yarn. Again, I couldn't resist the vintage bobbins. More in the AltText.
Are there more people who hoard colours against grey realities?

Saris silk wrapped in a strand, colour spectrum between pink, yellow, beige and light blue.
I looked for embroidered and originally coloured sari rests in vain, the trader almost only has overdyed silk: "people no longer want it too colourful."

Variegated embroidery thread in colour collections like yellow, rose, blue, brown-green etc. It is pure hoarding, at 1 E the strand I had to take 10, I couldn't stop at 7 or 9! I still don't know what I will make with it but I love variegated yarn for collages or stitching 3D moss.

It was great that the people from Auvergne were there again to supply me with ancient wooden bobbins: here are some in all sizes. One of the bobbins is wrapped with a self-coloured fabric ribbon. I use it to make scroll books from fabric or paper art. Hard to explain. My colleagues: Oh you embroider Thoras!

The beginning of a scroll book: The fabric is brightly purple (dyed with fruit tea). I placed different scraps from saree silk and lace on it and will fix them with "wild", intuitive embroidery like a collage. Colour spectrum: purple, rose, and yellowish green. These scroll books will be fixed on the wooden spools. They can be read like a Torah or hanged open on a wall.

@Hagukh Did I ever say that your wonderful macro photos inspire me to embroider #mosses and #lichen in 3D? Seeing this photo, I think about how I could recreate the grey bodies. (My first try was not very realistic).
