I'll probably stick with my old static site (even though this looks way easier), but I love the idea of simple alternatives; especially, alternatives built on familiar tech. in case you're unaware, GOOD INTERNET covers a lot of different aspects of the #SmallWeb: unplugging from the corporate web, fighting #enshittification, migrating from data-harvesting corpo social media, creating your own personal website, using code and website-building as an art form, federation, and creating websites for fun. the aim is to be approachable for beginners and enjoyable for seasoned #indieweb travelers!
you don't have to be a professional #webdev or a #coding smartypants to write about all the good things happening on "this side" of the web. the idea here is to spread the word about and share thoughts, independent web projects, services, methods, sites, meet-ups, and celebrate the non-corporate web together while making it easier for us to partake and unplug from #bigtech.

What I absolutely adore about the indie/ personal/ small web: Everybody's approach is very different. There are super modern looking websites and there are the ones who seem to come straight out of the 1990's/ early 2000's. There are ones that are specially made to work on the oldest computers. There are ones with and ones without Java Script. Ones made by pro web devs and ones made my people who are just starting to learn the basics. There are people who've been there from the beginning and those who are very new. And everything in between. People of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life.
In visiting personal websites you are seeing and experiencing the diversity of the world. And it's glorious!

Is Neocities still a common platform for progressive netizens? Should I just self host? Are we going back to web rings? What about Gemini browsers?
