Unlike #Israelis, #Palestinians are oppressed & cannot freely travel anywhere. Even within their own lands. They cannot leave & live freely in a different country because almost none of them have second passport - most don't even have domestic passports. That doesn't happen to peoples who are not #oppressed by a foreign state. That only happens under #oppression. Israelis are not oppressed. Palestinians are.

People are very tied to their language and don’t like change, especially when it #challenges a #PowerStructure . In #Winnipeg , Bishop Grandin, a symbol of #colonial power, is being #replaced by #languages of the #historically #oppressed : #Cree , #Ojibwe & #Métis . While this is precisely the point behind the change, it may make those uncertain about changing power structures uncomfortable.
