Crap. I've been struggling with how to realistically get another female character into the very male setting of the World War I trenches. It's only NOW, 60% of the way through my detailed outline that I figure it out. It was staring me in the face the whole time.
A woman disguised as a man so she could fight. History is full of examples.
Gotta start over to fit her into the story. At least it's not from scratch.
Early air battles: 2 compelling book illustrations by #Czech #Jewish artist Georg Jilovský. Producing art for Austria-Hungary during #WWI did not help him during the #Holocaust. He survived Auschwitz, but his sons died there & his wife died of the consequences of imprisonment

Wop May: Legendary Aviator and Lifesaver
Wilfrid 'Wop' May served with distinction in WWI, famously surviving a dogfight against the Red Baron. Postwar, he pioneered northern bush flying & in 1929 delivered life-saving diphtheria serum to Fort Vermilion, Alberta. In 1932, he played a crucial role in the manhunt for the Mad Trapper of Rat River - aerial scouting assisting RCMP. #Canada #History #WWI #WopMay

Trump continues on his Insult, Offend & Belittle tour.
BTW, Don-Don Bonespurs, we had the major advantage in both #WWI & #WWII of not having to try to defend ourselves & simultaneously evict the enemy while our entire country was physically under enemy fire or occupation.
But what would you know about it.
