Crap. I've been struggling with how to realistically get another female character into the very male setting of the World War I trenches. It's only NOW, 60% of the way through my detailed outline that I figure it out. It was staring me in the face the whole time.
A woman disguised as a man so she could fight. History is full of examples.
Gotta start over to fit her into the story. At least it's not from scratch.
