Right now you're thinking that you'd rather binge-watch Squid Game S3 on Friday June 27 instead of going to the next PyLadies Vancouver meetup on the same day at 6 PM. Why not both? If you start watching at 9 AM Friday morning, you'll be done by the time our meetup starts to so you could learn about Cloud deployment from Linda Lee. Plus, I have lots of swag from PyCon US to share with everyone.

RSVP now.

Don’t miss today’s DWeb Seattle Node Meetup!

Not all meetups need to look like mini-conferences.

Some of the most meaningful conversations I've had in my career happened in rooms with fewer than 15 people. No mic, no stage, no spotlight - just people exchanging thoughts without waiting for their turn in a Q&A line.
Somewhere along the way, meetups turned into events, and now “success” is often measured by the number of attendees. Organizers chase RSVPs like influencers chase likes. I get it : it feels good to see a packed hall. But we often forget: community doesn’t scale the same way as content does.
I’m personally biased toward smaller gatherings. The kind where everyone speaks, not just the speaker. The kind where you're not shouting over the buzz to ask someone about their work. The kind where conversations linger longer than the pizza does.
Just putting this out there for anyone organizing or attending meetups: maybe the value isn’t in how many attend — but how deeply people connect.
