Interesting new #Mac app focused on backing up iCloud Drive and Photos. I haven’t tried it yet, don’t know the dev.

What’s cool here is that it somehow makes sure to download all files that are only in iCloud Drive, backs them up to your destination, then removes the local copy again.

This is a clever solution to what has always seemed like a blind spot or loophole of Time Machine.

Has anyone here used the Sound Source app for Mac to control each individual apps volume?

I'm curious how well it works or if there's something others recommend that might be better in their opinion.

@amerpie tagging you since you use a ton of MacOS apps and might have thoughts on this one.

I'm experimenting with a new window management setup using Loop and Swift Shift in place of Rectangle Pro. I find the window previews of Loop to be very useful and Swift Shift has more in the way of options than what the equivalent functionality in Rectangle offers.

And hey, they're both open source! 👨‍💻

AutoDock 1.1.0 is available to download from GitHub and Homebrew (will be pushing the auto update soon).

No new features, just some enhancements. I’ve rewritten the code that controls the Dock to use Apple-approved automation APIs and to avoid writing directly to UserDefaults.

Over the course of the day yesterday, while using AutoDock "in production”, I discovered a couple annoying bugs which I've addressed with a small bugfix release.

I also took the time to finally learn how to set up Sparkle, so the app should auto-update in the future. 🎉

Ok all of you MacOS users out there, I need your help.

I'm looking for recommendations for an app that will remember window position and location.

For example, I have a couple of apps that I drag up to the toolbar and put them on their own desktop, but when I start them each day, their position on that desktop isn't kept, so I have to drag them there each day.

Hoping that makes sense and would like to know what everyone uses for this.

Anyone use Magnet app, for macOS, to handle window sizing? Since updating to Sequoia, Magnet now leaves a margin of space around my windows when I drag to the corner to make them fit 1/4 screen. Used to be that windows touched (4 on a screen).

Anyone else notice this? Is there a way back to the better, earlier way?
