Hey mastodon, j'aimerais beaucoup retrouver les listings #QBASIC qui avaient été publiés dans les #ScienceEtVieJunior de mon adolescence (encore mieux si c'est avec les articles associés).

Je me souviens plus particulièrement d'un visualiseur #Mandelbrot / #Julia, d'un #Tetris et d'un générateur d'#autostéréogramme

Je ne les trouve ni sur #archiveorg ni sur d'autres sites moins recommandables. Est-ce que quelqu'un aurait ça ?

While the ultimate utility of #llm etc. in human-centric computing remains to be seen, they are now deemed important enough to spur the creation of various #opensource, #openweight, #opendata etc. initiatives to replicate them.

Again a reactive approach, which is complicated by the fact that these are monstrously resource-intensive models.

In the meantime, there is an entire universe of less complicated but very useful algorithms that are freely available in #python, #rstats, #julia etc.

#Julia rendering by former PhD student M. Angelinelli of the formation and evolution of a simulated cluster of galaxies in a non-radiative ENZO grid simulation, over about 13 billion years of evolution.

The resolution of each cell is 30kpc, at all distances from the cluster centre, which we used to nicely resolve shocks and turbulence even where the cluster "ends".
